"I hope the message series on "The CHURCH" has opened up some new possibilities for you personally as we look at the story of the CHURCH in the Book of Acts. Last weekend we talked about how BOLD the early church was and how our boldness today can open up doors of ministry that are transforming for our world and for the people around us. This weekend the message will be "The CHURCH – Had a Big Idea." I hope you’ll worship with us as we grow together as the CHURCH".

Welcome to the website of the First United Methodist Church of Waco. I hope you find the information provided helpful and easy to navigate.

In these days of trying to maximize life, many of us sense the need for a fresh start. We add activities, join new clubs, go to new places, meet new people and yet there is still an inner hunger that goes unfilled. I am firmly convinced that Jesus Christ is the one who fills that inner hunger and maximizes life and First Methodist is Christ centered. We’re a diverse and multi-generational church that focuses on ministering to the whole person.

Recently, FUMC received the distinction of being one of the top 100 churches in attendance out of 36,000 United Methodist Churches in the US.

Please consider your commitments and specific volunteer ministries with much prayer. God wants to partner with us in His work, and involving Him in the decision-making process ensures that His will is done, rather than simply our own.
