Senior Adult Ministries
Primetimers Is... an educational and service experience for senior adults. The purpose is to provide service and new learning experiences for older persons, offering opportunities for intentional education, faith-filled reflection, fellowship, and cross-generational and cross-cultural appreciation in the context of Christian mission.
Did you know that... older adults play a pivotal role in our church with important financial giving to the church. Older adults are often the leaders and teachers in the church, proclaiming and teaching the faith. Older adults are present in all three worship services and engage in spiritual growth opportunities. Older adults are often the first to sign up, the first to attend, and the first to invite, the first to welcome, and the last to leave. Older adults are engaged in service. They have time and practical knowledge (wisdom gained from years of experience.
Here at First Methodist... we invite, equip, and empower older adults for service and to make a difference in the lives of older adults and the people they seek to serve.
Senior Adult Ministries Statement of Purpose
To help older adults live, learn, and serve through the vitality of
Jesus Christ by:

Meeting the needs of older adults in areas of love, caring, gaining a sense of belonging, recognition, purpose, mission appreciation, and fellowship.
-
Implementing programs, trips, and service projects to specifically meet those needs.
-
Accepting responsibility so that all older adults will both serve and be served by the hope and strength of Jesus.
