An extraordinary blessing for me, Susan and our family

fumcwaco, Ramsdell, RetirementDear First Family,

We have just finished our “God is Big Enough – What Matters Most,”  message series.  It was our closing message series together, and it has been a wonderful time.  What we have shared together has been a continuing stream of blessing and spiritual growth.  I’m praying in faith earnestly that God will bless the congregation that the Ramsdell family has loved for the last 20 year.  The congregation that is firmly planted in our hearts and that we will love in the future.

Your faithfulness has been a tremendous blessing to me.  I appreciate your devotion to God with your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.  Those are the four elements of a great congregation, and you are indeed a great congregation.  My prayer for you for the future is the same prayer that the Apostle Paul prayed for the Philippians:  “And this is my prayer:  that your love may bound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and my be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God.”  (Philippians 1:9-11)

Earlier in the same letter to the Philippians, Paul said, “I thank my God every time I remember you…because of your partnership in the gospel.”  I share this sentiment exactly. I thank God for you, and I count it a privilege to serve with you as partners in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our last Sunday together with “God is Still Big Enough”  was an extraordinary blessing for me, Susan and our family.  I’m so appreciative of all those who worked to hard to make this celebration such an amazing and humbling time. There were tears enough for all during the service.  My daughter Deborah said she cried a dozen times watching the live broadcast. I saw lots of tears full of sweet sadness. On behalf of our family,  Susan and I want to thank you for your faithfulness, for attending the service, for waiting in a long, long line to share kind words with us, for the beautiful God is ig Enough Plaque, for the silver God is Big Enough bracelets for the ladies in my family, for 20 years of service Christ together, and for the very generous monetary gift.  We will think of you often and pray that the best days of this congregations ministry is before you.  I’m confident the best is yet to come.

May God bless you richly!

Yours in His Name,
Stephen and Susan Ramsdell
