"...the Father Himself loves you because you have loved Me..." V. 27a

Reading: John 16:17-28
Reflection by Ryan Barnett

Jesus has broken down every barrier sin erected between God and His beloved. He has made an intimate connection possible with our Heavenly Father through prayer. Jesus encourages us to pray boldly before the Father and expect His response.

I don't know about you, but sometimes I find my prayers are too small, too filled with the word "just." It's as if I don't want God to be put in the embarrassing position of not being able to do all I might ask, so I simply don't ask. We are going to be spending the season after Easter on this subject, but why not get started now?

Let's take Jesus up on His offer! When we pray, let's ask BIG and see what happens. In faith, let's put our prayers before the Lord and with patience and perseverance expect His response.

Prayer: Lord, help me come to You with all things, large and small in Jesus' Name! Amen.

Action Point: Write down on a piece of paper a BIG ask of God. Put it where you will see it every day, and each time you do, lift it in prayer until you receive a response from the Lord.
