Who We Are
The college ministry of First Waco exists to bring students into community with God and each other. Our motto is “Growing, changing, traveling. Together.” We want to always be growing in our faith and relationships, open to changing and transforming into the people God is calling us to be, and traveling through this life journey one step of faith at a time. And we’re doing it all together. We are not on this journey alone, and we want to invite you to join us as we navigate life, culture, faith, and how the Gospel fits into all of this. We’d love to get to get to know you!
We are also in the process of renovating the Wesley building located only a block away from Baylor’s campus (821 Speight Ave, Waco, TX). Once the renovations are finished, our college ministry will operate primarily out of that building. The Wesley is remaining a student organization, so we will be involved with campus and student life, but we will operate under the umbrella of First Waco. We are so excited for you to see the space and make it your own!
Transit is our Thursday night college worship service, currently held at Austin Avenue Methodist Church at 8:00PM. We spend time in worship and community through music, teaching, prayer, and after-service activities called Overtime. Find us now at 1300 Austin Ave, Waco, TX; Fall of 2019, find us at the Wesley as mentioned above!
Bible studies are a great way to dig deep into the Word and build small-group accountability. We have groups for men and women offered at multiple times throughout the week, so you can find one that works with your schedule. Email email@example.com for more info or to get connected to a group leader.
Most students gather for Sunday worship at First’s main campus, 4901 Cobbs Drive, at 9:30AM. There are several other worship service times on Sunday, as well as one on Saturday at 5:30 pm. Join in the multi-generational body of Christ and get plugged into the larger church family. There are also plenty of opportunities to serve on Sunday mornings!
Issues in Christianity discussion happens at 11:00AM on Sunday mornings on the lower level, room 4. If you have questions about heaven and hell, origins of the universe, the role of Scripture in our lives, and other topics of debate within Christianity, this is the place for you! Ask hard questions, think out loud, and know that even with varying opinions, we are united in Jesus.
Discipleship is a great way to receive one-on-one ministry from a fellow believer who can pour into your life through prayer, accountability, and individual teaching. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
