"...And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." V. 21 (ESV)
Reading: John 14:15-21
Reflection by Hayley House
True love manifests itself in willing obedience. In this passage, there is a foretelling of both the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. With His words, Jesus prepares His disciples for a time in which He will no longer be physically present with them; a time in which the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, will be with the disciples in a new and more powerful sense. This is true for us today.
As followers of Christ, we find ourselves wrapped up right in the middle of the Trinity through the extravagant love of the Father. As His beloved sons and daughters, we are able to love the Father back through joining in the work of Christ made possible through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. If we are willing to keep Christ's commandments, we will always find ourselves dwelling in the greatest love we will ever know.
Prayer: Lord, let me be willing and ready to be led by Your Spirit into the things You have called me to. Amen.
Action Point: On a place where you can see it throughout the day, write "God's work, not mine."
